On booking a DIY rental, we will arrange a suitable time for you to collect and return the equiptment from our site in Rosedale, Auckland. We will meet you there at that time with everything ready to load into your car.
DIY rentals come with everything you need to pitch and pack down your tent (mallet, pegs, poles, tent towel).
On booking we send through instructional videos of how to safely pitch and pack away the tent. We ask you to please use the towel provided to wipe away dirt and debris from the base of the tent. These instructions should be followed to ensure your Damage Bond is returned in full.
We do also ask you to allow the canvas to air dry before being packed away whenever possible, or alert us on return if the canavs may be moist. This will not impact your damage bond return.
Our DIY packages can be collected fom Storage King Rosedale, 10 Rothwell Avenue, Rosdale by appointment only.
Absolutely. We can deliver at cost. Our costs for delivery are dependent upon the scale of the hire equiptment and the location of your venue.
We don't currently allow fires, cookers, burners or any open flames in the tents.
The minimum space required for each 5m tent is a 7m diametre circle.
The 6m twin tents require a minimum space of 9x6m.
Please measure your site to ensure you have the right dimentions of flat, turf. We will not be able to refund you if the tents do not fit.
Yes :) The tents are naturally waterproof once pitched with good tension on the guy ropes.
Our 5m Tents comforably sleep 4 on full size beds. On air beds 6 can be fitted in at a squeeze. On camping pads, 8 can bunk in but there won't be any space left for your supplies!
Our 6m 'Twin' Tents sleep 6 on full size beds. On air beds, you can accomodate 8 at a push. On camping pads 10 is a snuggly squeeze.
Our 5m Tents can be pitched as quickly as in 15 minutes but allow 25 for first-timers.
The 'Twin Tents' are more complcated and will take approximately half an hour to pitch perfectly. These tents need two people to pitch them due to the 'twin pole' structure that gives them their name.
A single 5m Tent will fit in any car. It requires a space of approximately 100x50x50cm.
A twin tent is a little larger (and heavier) so plan a space of approximately 120x50x50cm.
If you are hiring a DIY furnished Package, the average car will need to be fairly empty or have a large trunk space. We have a few switch outs to optimise space (air beds rather than foam beds, Folding camping chairs rather than directors style chairs)... we encourage you to collect these packages the day prior to your trip so you can pack smart!
We are always happy to help and will do our best to plan to the space you have available.
